In 1998 the St. Saviour’s School, Ebute – Metta in a bid to continue nurturing children, started the nursery school and today proudly provides an enabling environment which inspires excellence and lifelong learning to children between ages 3 and 11.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Maintenance Officer
Location: Ebute – Metta, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Accountable to: Head, Administrative
Main Purpose
- To perform general maintenance and repairs for the school’s equipment, buildings, and machines including plumbing work, basic carpentry, electrical repairs, and air conditioning system maintenance.
Responsibilities
- To check that all electrical fixtures and fittings are in a safe working condition at the start of each day.
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plan repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- To inform the Head, Administration of any electrical repairs that need to be undertaken and to complete these tasks with immediate effect.
- To inform the Head, Administration of any electrical faults that may pose a danger to the children and staff.
- To ensure there is a consistent power supply to the school by reverting to the generator when the PHCN supply fails.
- To check the supply of diesel and inform the Administrative Secretary when there is 1 weeks supply left.
- Before starting any electrical work to check that all safety procedures are in place and to repeat these checks before any current is re-connected.
- To check daily that all classroom fixtures and fittings are in good working order.
- Carry out repairs to classroom fixtures and fittings and where needed inform the Administrative Secretary if additional technicians, carpenters etc are required.
- Check the Maintenance Book daily and prioritise the work that needs to be carried out.
- Check that all plumbing is in good functional order and to undertake the necessary repairs.
- Undertake regular inspections of all septic tanks to ensure that the levels do not pose a health risk.
- Ensure that the works for the summer vacation are completed before the school resumes for the new session.
- Provide receipts for any good purchased.
- Operate and maintain the school generators.
- Ensure safety and proper use of the generator by:
- Checking fuel and oil gauges before switching on
- Switching off all air conditioners, fridges and fans before switching on the generator
- Switch off the generator and change to NEPA power supply as soon as public power is restored
- Report immediately any malfunctioning or unusual sound or fluctuation or smell from the generator
- Undertake specific duties at whole school functions and events that may be regarded as within the duties of this post.
- Always dress neatly and uphold the name of the school.
- To undertake such duties that may be reasonably regarded as within the nature of the duties of the post. Any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms.
- Keepmaintenance logsand report on daily.
- Any other duties as directed by the Head, Administration.
Qualification and Requirements
Required Education:
- HND
- On-the-job training offered.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 previous experience in maintenance

Job Title: Music Teacher
Location: Ebute – Metta, Lagos

Accountable to: Head Teacher
Job Purpose
The Music Teacher will:
- Music teacher will instruct pupils in practical methods and music theory of general music, instrumental techniques, scales, sight-reading, singing, as well as playing musical instruments.
- Endeavour to maintain and develop the ethos of the school, in accordance with the directions given by the Board of Management and, subject thereto, the directions given by the Head Teacher.
- Teach a class of pupils, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
- Contribute to constructive team-building amongst teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, and the Board of Management.
- Ensure that the agreed conditions of employment for schoolteachers are met.
Duties
- To create an enjoyable learning and stimulating classroom environment where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils and inspire and help them grow in appreciation of music.
- Monitor students in and out of the classroom and motivate them to extend themselves to after-school music clubs to enhance process.
- Teach general styles of music to pupils using practical and theoretical methods and incorporating musical instruments in lessons.
- Teach singing to students from beginner to advanced level including voice, tone, tempo, and rhythms skills,
- Plan, develop, implement and maintain an effective music educational program for students including program of instruction (instructional materials) and lesson plans.
- Prepare students for school concerts and planned music experiences by arranging recitals and concerts for pupils’ families and friends.
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge and awareness of examination requirements to prepare pupil for practical and exams and entering them for external examinations like Muson and Trinity.
- Conduct music classes according to rules and regulations established by Board of Management.
- Assessing and evaluate pupils’ abilities, potential, skill, and performance and provide feedback, guidance, and assistance to improve their musical skills through daily assignments.
- Write reports to parents on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.
- Maintain student behavioural standards to ensure productive and disciplined environment during group rehearsals, practices, and performances in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.
- Train, rehearse, and lead students in school and community musical programs.
- Collaborate with school administration to organize musical programs for functions and school productions.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students.
- Maintain student grading and keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning.
- Communicate and co-operate with specialists from outside agencies.
- Lead, organise and direct support staff within the classroom.
- Attend staff meetings, seminars, co-curricular events.

Job Title: Assistant Teacher

Main Purpose
- To support the teachers and pupils
- The Assistant Teacher will work in a direct support role, generally providing assistance to the lead/class teacher as he/she guide the class through lessons by preparing materials, interacting with students, and supervision.
- Teach a class of pupils in the stead of the lead/class teacher, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
Duties
The Assistant Teacher will:
- Assist the Class Teacher to provide a stimulating classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils.
- Assist the Class Teacher in the organisation and management of the learning environment and resources.
- Support the Class Teacher in Teaching and Learning including working with groups or individual pupils as required.
- Assist with the supervision of children at playtime, eating, and toilet routines, and on school visits
- Monitor the movement of children within the school environment and ensure their safety at all times.
- Assist the Class Teacher to maintain order and discipline amongst pupils, in accordance with the school’s policies and guidelines.
